With Freedom from the Streets, we have built a structure where people with the experience are helping people who are going through the experience - where staff and program participants can find and refine their power to bring systemic change.

Our staff are people who are homeless, formerly homeless, or on the verge of homelessness. We let people be people, no sugar coating or nothing, just be yourself. We're hearing and listening to people because we've lived, and in some cases are still living, their stories.

Volunteering Opportunities

Community organizing, outreach, peer counseling, facilitation skills, human resources, authentic leadership, training in culinary sanitation and food preparation.

Volunteering with our organization may qualify for your program or community work credit. We are happy to write a letter detailing your service to your employer, school, or program.
